I am wrong about above dict.if we type hanzi in the box ,it will be for mandarin . If we select holo hanzi,it will be for taiwanese hanzi.roman will do for both.

I wonder since that 掩 wendu is yam2.What about its baidu,is it really ng ?

I think above dict maybe listed wrongly too for this as ? ng.It is ing1 and baidu as inn1 in xiamen.Maybe is eng in other school but no ng for it?

I think we miss people with surname ruan in mandarin as ng2 阮.This is surname for vietnamese only?

one dict says ?h baidu-ng1 wendu-un7.So my problem is solved .Another ?Z =摇动(yan)baidu-ng2 wendu-un2.Maybe 掩 case is like the last one.
I find that one minnan dict give my surname 王 baidu as ng5,wendu as ong5 and 7.I know that we should use baidu for surname but wendu for name.Why this is not the case?

I just found one xiamen dict say 掩 bai-im wen-iam but no ng is mentioned as baidu.

Hong: ong5 is both literary and colloquial; ng5 is only colloquial in a few phrases.
